Why there is a fuel surcharge, and when it comes off
A plain explanation of the ₱30 temporary surcharge, how it is applied and what would end it.

Since 9 March a temporary surcharge of ₱30 has been added to every passenger ticket, with an equivalent adjustment on freight rates. It is shown as its own line on your ticket and in our fare calculator — it is not folded into the fare.
Bunker fuel is the single largest cost of a night crossing. When prices moved sharply we had a choice between raising base fares permanently and adding a surcharge we can remove. We chose the one we can remove.
We review the surcharge every month against fuel prices. When it comes off, we will post it here and at every booking office on the same day.
